English Actress Helen Mirren, born Ilynea Lydia Mironoff (born July 26th, 1945), is best known for her roles as Jane Tennison on Prime Suspect (1991–96, 2003, and 2006) and Elizabeth II in The Queen (2006), for which she received an Academy Award. Born in London to a Russian father and a Scottish mother, Mirren grew up in the capital city.
In 1967, Mirren began her acting career at the Royal Shakespeare Company in London. When she played the queen in The Queen, she was nominated for an Oscar for her performance. She and her husband currently live in Los Angeles, but they do have a London flat that they utilize all year round.
Keira Knightley
Born on March 26th, 1985, in Richmond, a neighbourhood of London’s South West, Keira Knightley is a British actress and model. She is the daughter of actors Will Knightley and Sharman Macdonald, who went on to become playwrights. Keira had no professional training as an actress and did it purely for fun. She attended a regular council-run school in neighbouring Teddington and had no notion what she wanted to do when she graduated. Nonetheless, she has been nominated for an Empire Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, and two Oscars. As a child, Knightley appeared on television and made her feature film debut in 1995, but it wasn’t until Bend It Like Beckham in 2002 that she gained her name.
