Free Collection When You Prepay for 3 Months or more
Henfield Storage offers free collection for new customers when you prepay for at least 3 months, lockers and containers excluded.
You still get a normal self storage unit at your chosen branch. The difference is that you do not need to hire a van or do multiple trips to get started.
Collection is available across London and Sussex, up to 30 miles from the branch, Monday to Friday, subject to availability.
What free collection includes
Free collection covers transport from your address to your local Henfield Storage branch.
A uniformed Henfield Storage team member arrives with the van and loads with your helper(s). You meet at the branch to help unload into your unit if you are using standard self storage.
If you prefer a more hands off option, click+store is available, but traditional self storage is the main service.
Who qualifies for free collection
Free collection applies when:
- You are a new customer
- You prepay for at least 3 months
- You book a room size 15 to 250 sq ft
- The address is within 30 miles of the branch
- Collection is Monday to Friday, subject to availability
- Items are packed and dismantled when the driver arrives
- We collect from one address only, not multiple pick ups
- Lockers and containers do not qualify.
If you leave early after using free collection, you are still charged 3 months rental from the contract start date because that is the minimum term for the offer.
Helper requirements
You need to provide helper(s) to assist the driver. Helpers should be able to lift and carry goods and be available for both loading and unloading.
- 15 to 40 sq ft units, at least 1 helper
- 50 to 90 sq ft units, at least 2 helpers
- 100 sq ft and above, at least 3 helpers
If helpers cannot be arranged, Henfield Storage can provide the necessary manpower for a charge.
What happens on the day
1. Booking the Collection
Once you’ve decided to use our free storage collection service, simply contact us to arrange a date and time for your collection. Our team will confirm the details and ensure your items are ready for the pick-up.
2. Loading the goods
On the day of collection, one of our uniformed staff will come to your home or workplace to load your belongings into our van. If your storage space is under 50 sq ft, we’ll need you to provide one pair of hands to help load the van. This could be you or a friend, as long as you’re comfortable lifting.
For collections between 50-90 sq ft, you’ll need to arrange an additional helper. For 100 sq ft or more, two extra helpers are required. If your helpers aren’t available, we can provide additional hands—just contact us for a quote. Working as a team helps make the process quick and efficient.
3. Transporting Your Items
Once your goods are loaded, we’ll transport them to the nearest Henfield Storage facility. For the click+store service, you don’t need to come to the store, we handle everything from here.
4. Unloading and Storing
For the self storage option, you and your extra helpers will need to meet us at the storage facility to help unload your belongings and store them securely in your unit. We’ll assist with unloading to make sure items are moved into the unit safely. You can then place your own padlock on the unit, finalize the paperwork, and complete the storage contract.

While you can access your stored goods seven days a week, our free collection service operates Monday to Friday. We’re open on most bank holidays, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, and Easter Sunday. However, please note that we do not offer collections on bank holidays.

Are there any restrictions on the size of the storage units for collection?
Yes, our free collection service is available for storage spaces ranging from 15 sq ft to 250 sq ft. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer collection for smaller lockers (10 or 15 sq ft, half-height units).
