About our free contactless collection service for self storage
a few things you should know first…
We’re glad you’re thinking of using our contactless free collection service! We’ve got a few straightforward rules and expectations to run past you, so that we all know what we’re doing.
Please note that our full terms and conditions do vary depending on whether you’re choosing self storage or click+store, but we’ve pulled out some of the main points below. If you want the full detail, you can find it at the bottom of this page. Please also be aware that the collection service is only available if you prepay for 3 months or longer and we don’t currently offer a collection service for lockers.
loading the goods into the van
We’ll send one of our uniformed staff (so you recognise them) to your home or workplace, to pick up your goods and bring them to our store. We think things always go better when it’s a team effort, we’ll work together with you to help load your goods into the van. In order to keep to the government’s advice on social distancing the member of staff will have to remain at least 1m apart from you at all times and won’t be able to go inside your property.
For click+store, there’s no need to come with us – we take care of everything from here. If you’re taking our self storage option, you’ll need to come back to the store. You will have to make your own way there as we won’t be able to take you back in our van because of the need to practice social distancing. Once back at the store we again work as a team and help you to unload into your room.
Your possessions should be suitably packed and easily accessible when we arrive, remember that we won’t be able to come into your property because of social distancing rules. We’ll go over this with you when you book.
While we’re open for customers to access their goods seven days a week, our collection services only run from Mondays to Fridays. Further, we’re open on most bank holidays (though not Christmas and Boxing Day, New Year’s Day or Easter Day), but we don’t do collections on bank holidays.
For a normal-sized collection (under 50 sq ft), we’ll need you to arrange one pair of hands to help our driver – this can be you, as long as you’re comfortable lifting and carrying your goods. Working as a team with us you’ll load the van. We think with a team effort it will be twice as fast!
If you are taking 50-90 sq ft, you’ll need to provide an extra pair of hands, and if it’s 100 sq ft or more, two extra pairs of hands. You can get friends to be the extra pairs of hands or if they’re busy, we can provide extra help. Please call us to get a quote for this.
If you’re taking self storage, we’ll need you and the extra helpers to come to the store with us and help unload into the unit. In order to keep to social distancing guidelines they and you will have to make your own way to the store. You can put your own padlock on the room, complete a few bits of paperwork and the storage contract.

Generally speaking, our free collection service is available within 30 miles of each branch. We cover anywhere inside the M25, between London and the south coast. Call us to find out if we can get to you!
free van hire
As an alternative, book for a month or more and we offer a free van hire service for a day (worth £49) during the week. Or you can take a larger van and we’ll put that £49 towards the total. This service is only available from our Horsham location at the moment (conditions apply).
